Polyamide Nanofiber-Based Air Filters for Transparent Face Masks

Transparent face masks are the ultimate solution for improving communication during pandemic times while at same time slowing spread of pathogens. Here, we demonstrate an easily scalable process consisting directly electrospinning polyamide nanofibers onto a mechanical stable substrate made poly(lactic acid) by needleless setup production transparent filter material. Filtration tests against NaCl and fructose aerosols pressure drop were performed compared with European standard medical (EN 14683:2019) Swiss rule community (SNR 30000:2021). The showed outstanding transparency (?70% transmittance in visible-light range), 89% filtration efficiency PM1.0, 6.5 Pa/cm2.
